These aren’t mashups…they’re “mashterpieces.” I spent a lot of time and effort to edit, blend, reshape, retime, and recontextualize the sights and sounds so they would feel like they were meant for each other. Sometimes the source audio comes through, sometimes the source video drives the song, and sometimes the combination gives new meaning to both. The goal of these videos was to create something entirely new, not just set old videos to new music.
I tend to keep the original songs and visuals intact without too much remixing. That’s because the original versions were well thought out and meticulously planned. I’m sure the writers, editors, and fans of the original works will notice the changes, and I’d like to extend my sincerest apologies and genuine appreciation to all the amazing artists who brought this fantastic source material to life.
