I had a couple family members make (what I believe) are huge mistakes by assuming that without religion one cannot have law. They acted like the only place people learn rules is from religious entities. I wonder if they realized that most of the rules they’re talking about were taught to them by society, and are not based in religion. Religions like to take credit for rules that are universal and mix in their own rules (for various reasons). Just because someone doesn’t subscribe to “rules” made by other humans doesn’t mean that person can’t understand what is right and wrong. How many times have you heard the news talking about a war involving atheists and agnostics? Never. You know why? Because they don’t presume to have the support of a higher power to justify their outrageous behavior.
